Donovan Olsen
A director and socially-engaged-theatre artist focused on creating new and devised work centering queer joy through values-based artistic processes.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Donovan graduated from Whitman College in 2019 with a degree in theatre. Over their four years in Walla Walla, Donovan produced several works with Harper Joy Theatre, the Hayloft Players, and the Walla Walla Immigrant Rights Coalition’s Art and Social Practice committee. Upon moving to Seattle, they began working for Seattle Repertory Theatre’s Public Works program, leading theatre of, by, and for community rooted in the values of equity, imagination, and joy — and coordinating 60-person community ensembles for annual musical productions. Currently Donovan serves as the Programs Manager for TeenTix, championing arts access and youth empowerment.
